Sabyasachi X Notting Hill

Recently I stumbled upon a wonderful little boutique in the heart of Notting Hill called Aashini & Co. I have literally walked past the boutique so many times but never looked in or stepped in until the other day! It's a beautiful little haven for all the luxury indian fashion houses, hosting collections from Manish Malhotra, Gaurav Gupta, Varun Bahl, Rohit Bal, Amit Agarwal and many more.

One of the designer collections they carry is by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, famous for his modesty in dressing women and intricacy in thread work, fabric choices and being a favourite among most Bollywood actresses. If you have been following the recent Cannes film festival 2013 shenanigans, which I have been obsessing over, you would have noticed that Sabyasachi had dressed Vidya Balan, an Indian actress repressing the Indian film industry where she wore wore pieces of his collection representing the epitome of Indian tradition. So when I heard that Aashini & Co were hosting a Sabyasachi trunk show I was super excited to be invited and meet the designer himself.

Some of the heavier bridal collections.

The refinement of thread work is just beautiful. I could stare it for hours!

Loved the high neck details, who needs a statement necklace when you have THIS!!

Time for a selfie!

Sabyasachi himself!

Another pose after he found out I was Bengali too. lol

Here are a few photos from Sabyasachi and Cannes:

Hope they host another trunk show soon! Definitely one to go with the girls!! Let's hope there is one before my cousins wedding :)
